New Admin & 2021 Recap

What's new and improved in Conductrics 3.7.x ?

In March of 2021, we released Conductrics 3.7.0, which was a significant update with a bunch of new features, including a refreshed look and feel for the Conductrics Admin. Of course, we have continued to follow up with incremental updates during the intervening year.

This "catch-up" document summarizes what's new and improved since 3.7.0.

Improved Admin

We have refreshed the Conductrics Admin console, improving its overall usability, look and feel.

The "New" Admin was created in large part to address as many of the suggestions, complaints and observations from our customers as we could. We really do get lots of your suggestions into the product, so feel free to submit your own at [email protected]. Thank you! :)

Improved Dashboard / Agent List Page

The main "Agent List" page has been touched up to make it easier for companies with growing experimentation programs, so loads of Agents / Tests (and many Admin Users and Teams).

  • Easy Filters by Team / Status
  • Favorites and Bulk Actions
  • Calendar View

Streamlined "Create" Process for new Tests/Agents

You can create a new Test / Agent from anywhere in the Admin, just hit Create at the top of the page.

Improved Agent Home Page

There's a new Agent Home Page layout that shows all of the settings and conditions at a glance for each Test / Agent.

  • Goals / Conversions are now assumed to be "private" to a Test/Agent by default, so you don't have to wade through long lists of "one-off" Goals from other teams.
  • Easily define View-States with Triggers that activate your Tests / Agents after a certain amount of time, or when an element gets added to the page, or when the user scrolls, etc.
  • Define new Custom Visitor Traits right from the agent's page.

Those are just the highlights. Just about every page in the admin has been rethought and touched up. Check it out for yourself, or feel free to schedule a quick tour on a call with us.

Tools for QA

  • QA-Only Mode for Agents - Easily make sure that only your dev and QA teams get exposed to tests/variations while they are still in development.
  • Preview Launcher for Express - Makes it easy to let yourself into a particular test variation. You can also share preview links with stakeholders, even if they don't have a Conductrics login. See Using the Preview Launcher.
  • Separate QA Dataset in Reporting - QA Visitors are completely siloed away from your normal traffic, so you can easily do ongoing QA without skewing your A/B Test results.
  • QA Sessions for REST API - Makes it easy to preview and troubleshoot test variations and conversion events in mobile apps or "server-side" pages/applications. See QA Sessions.

Reporting Improvements

  • Primary vs Secondary Goals - Easily tell Conductrics which Goal/Conversion events are the "primary" or "main" metrics for your A/B Tests, which helps keep the reporting tidy and organized.
  • One-Tailed vs Two-Tailed Test Option - Easily use the statistical approach that you feel is appropriate for each of your A/B Tests.
  • Estimated Diff Calculations - Understand the Difference (aka Lift) between each variation, including a Confidence score for each difference.

Targeting Improvements

  • Nested and/or Conditions - You can now easily create complex Conditions using nested and/or logic, often making it much easier to target exactly the URLs or visitors you want.
  • First vs Return Visit, Visit Number - Target/filter visitors based on show many times they have visited in the recent past.
  • Touch-Enabled, Browser Size, User Agent - Target/filter visitors based on browser characteristics.
  • Selector Exists, Form Field Value, Text Content - Target/filter visitors based on the content of the current page.
  • Visitor Lookup Tables - Allow you to store certain visitor attributes server-side, for use with the REST API. See the Lookup Tables page for details.

Surveys

Conductrics now includes built-in Survey functionality, so you can easily do "qualitative" market research alongside your experimentation program. The focus is on using surveys and A/B testing together, so you can understand "the why" behind your A/B test results. NPS Surveys are also supported.
